The Chassis is the operating system for any department. Use it daily. A manager who only does some of these jobs is driving with wheels missing.

   Function, goals, KPIs, Visual Ambition, current Growing Up initiative. Get clarity from the company leader.

   2. Build a Team

   Right people in the right seats. Competence first. Hire Higher. Replace what you inherited if it cannot perform.

   3. Communicate

   Expectations often, even the obvious. Vision, Mission, Values as daily tools, not wall art.

   4. Motivate

   Keep people engaged and wanting to. Retain the best. High turnover is a leadership problem.

   5. Train and Develop

   Increase skill and teamwork so the department can do more tomorrow. Untrained people are the brand on the customer's property.

   No silos. Serve internal customers. One Team.

   7. Build Positive Culture

   Respected, challenged, recognized, and they enjoy being here.

   8. Set an Example

   Respect, honesty, integrity, fairness, open communication. The department is your elongated shadow.

   9. Make a Profit

   Improve productivity. Control costs. The gear exists so the company can make money.

    See small problems early. Notify the owner. Stop the cascade.
